How I automatically chanGe MAC address at window login

Hi. Maybe old news but I did some seacrhces and I didn't seem to find anything so I am posting this.
(if anyone 'has the power' I made spelling error in title 'chance' to 'change' - soz)

I worked out how to automatically change the MAC address on your pc everytime you log into your different windows users (or just the one windows user depending on your setup).

I installed a small program called Technitium MAC Address Changer v5 R3 and checked the small help document. There is an option to use to use 'the command line interface' in the program.

So, I made a .bat file using the options in the help menu and put the .bat file in my startup folder so everytime my pc logs into windows, it changes the MAC address automatically.

If this is something you could use it is fairly easy to setup - just check the help document that comes with the program

With multiple windows users, the program lets you save the different MAC addresses to a list, so its easy to setup for each different windows user - all in easy to follow small help document

It took me ages to work it out and I am quite chuffed with my self. I spent ages on google searching and I could find no help. I was going to post a thread asking on here but I thought I would investigate on my own some more and I dont know how I did it but I did and now switching between my 10 accounts daily is a bit more easier and faster.

Thanks for reading

Also, if anyone knows of a way to logoff a windows user account and login to a different one easily, please let me know - maybe a .bat I can make or a program I can download. Thanks

Do you use this method for just Amazon or Ebay or both

Thanks!

Care to make a step by step instructional video for us? I'm sure you will help many many people. :)

Downloaded it already but cant understand how to use it. It asked me to authorize it for .cpf files?

I only sell on eb so I use for that.

I am just a basic kind of fello. I will try and have a go at doing some kind of video. As I like to do things in a professional way, it will probably take me ages so I wont have it ready for a little while. If I can't make a video tutorial that is of a high standard, I am afraid I will not be showing it to anyone!

Don't get so technical with it as long as you cover each step, it shouldn't have to be done perfectly as long as it's understandable. You can Youtube it also and I'm sure you'll gain alot of credit for helping many

While this is a good step and pre-apologies if I am sounding dumb but why would you worry about MAC for eB ay all of the sudden?

Alps_a somewhatlegend 03-24-2011 12:31 PM

I just like to be safe rather than sorry and risk loosing and account. I have read around and some people recommened changing it and others dont. Being a 'para cat' I do it. It might be a waste of time I dont know for certain.

In my opinion alps is just being prepared for what might come from ebay.

They may improve their systems and whos to say they wont track MAC addresses in futute months or years?

I think its possible that ebay could be tracking mac addresses now. I'm not sure or convinced either way. However I've seen accounts suspended where there was nothing relating them except the mac address.

That is incorrect. If that was the case then half of the members here would be reporting this since the majority of them don't change the MAC address.

I thought they had to be on your network to monitor mac addresses...?
