eBays newest filter? NOT - misinformation to be ignored
 

eBays newest filter to spy on your system and helping keep their programing costs down is
their forcing you to use only certain browsers during portions of sign up and other pages
whare information fields are used.
*Their message is your browser does not support cookies.
Untrue, Their remedy is switching your browser to one they have the knockdown power for.
It appears these further supported pages on ebay are currently random.
You may do the same process 5 times and get the message only once.
In essance though it is what ebay is currently working on and
I am sure will become much more popular in the near future.:p

I have researched why this appears to happen but only sometimes to several users,
I have found the erratic cookie error message is due to the number of cookies being sent to your
system by ebay.

I have personally found counting cookies for the repeated same actions anywhare from 5 to 136
cookies being sent to my system totally at random from ebay. So essentially ebay is actually
overloading even powerful computers totally at random which is why errors occure on the ebay
site and tracking methods being used at ebay are somewhat of a mystery.

But must not be taken lightly.

i did get that message a few days ago, but i think there was just an error within ebay, because a relogged in with the same browser and it worked fine. so there is such a message.

I've used eBay with IE, Firefox (mostly) and Opera. All of them work fine...

I've seen that message before several times, but I always had cookies turned off, I turned them on and immediately logged in.

evidently it was a error on ebays end I think?

As I visited the same page multiple times the same day and encountered the problem just a couple of the times, always using the same browser and browser settings.

I have since tried a few other browsers,

The original I was using was Avant I personally like this browser a lot.
I have since tried Fire Fox the thing that concerns me is they are now offering a ebay version of Fire Fox on their site, Could Fire Fox of sold out??

I have also given Opera a try, Opera is a good browser however the proxy service I use doesn't work with Opera. (Incompatibility Issues).

I use a paid version of Private Proxy,
They seem ok but a little weak in some areas.
ebay recognizes every address of the 10 US & 10 Netherlands they have.
Although they let you register & buy with credit card verification practically
every time they will suspend you as soon as you post with one of private proxy's ip's.


I'm thinking of going with Hide My Ip?

I like using a high speed proxy with my high speed connection for surfing ebay.
Then I switch to dial up and dial into what ever area when registering a id.
or working on a id.

Any thoughts on Hide My Ip.
As a proxy provider?

After testing several browsers,
I can see why Fire Fox is a highly rated anonymous browser.
Their one advantage over most others is Fire Fox allows cookies for cookie
required websites such as ebay.

However their powerful difference from most other browsers is they delete the cookies as soon as they are received.
Most of the other browsers I tested held cookies until the browser was closed when cookies were allowed.
Thus doing their damage while allowed to remain on the system until the browser was physically closed.

Their are actually other browsers I like more than Fire Fox,
Due to speed, user friendliness etc.
So my quest was to find a program that could put the immediate cookie removal ability to most browsers.

I am happy to say
I located a FREE easy to use software program for doing this on tocows the program to look for is Cookie Spook. :)

I have personally found it to place the immediate cookie removal ability to work on
several different browsers including Advent and even MSIE.

Yeah this is nothing, also if you goto the site, then clear cookies, then try to log in you will get that message..but it has nothing to do with tracking
