Can ebay track you by merely logging into skype?
 

Hi, I don't intend on using my skype number on my ebay/paypal accounts, but I wondered if ebay can automatically link you to your new stealth account by just logging into your skype account(with old details).

It's just it has the number which all of my clients use to contact me via my business (+ the number on all of my business cards etc).

Is it the same process as paypal whereby once you log in to your skype, they instantly link it to your ebay.

Hmm have not worked with skype usage as a number for eb ay but I wonder if any change now that it was sold off to Micros oft.

Well on the "About Skype" page, it still mentions ebay, so I'd have to say no, don't try it.

This sentence worries me, even after Microsoft purchased Skype, it still says this:

"Skype is owned by an investor group led by Silver Lake and which includes eBay Inc"

Truthfully, EB and PP are like HIV/AIDs. Once they infect, they never leave, no matter how small of a trace or footprint they may have. They are there and I would bet everything I own on this.

You can tip toe around all you want, just be ready to lose accounts.

Could it be that they just haven't updated their about us page yet (wishful thinking)

It could be lots of things but do you really want to risk it?

I have never used skype, can someone briefly explain how eBay could link you?

Why would a seperate user account and IP for your skype not work, that is the reason I wanted to find out how they link you.
