Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Which is safer/better for cookies etc..FF or IE?
Or is there not much difference between them?

Using Internet Explorer 8 at the moment and I always clear cookies and history when I close the browser anyway. Also, IE8 has "InPrivate" browsing. Would that work for eb/pp?
