Back to Back log-ins - Safe or sinister...

I know this is a basic one, but are PP and eBay fine with users doing back to back log-ins?

I am talking about changing everything (IP, cookies, etc...) before doing the log-ins. I always used to leave it about a few hours in between log-ins as there could be potential tracking that the same set of user accounts were logged in at similar times, etc...

Just wondering if anybody has done back to back log-ins of more than a few sets of accounts on a regular and long period of time and come out the other side with no issues ??? :juggle:

I have two ebay account that are purposely linked to the same paypal and i do this and have done this for over a year now with no issues. if you have seperate ebay hooked up to different paypals than this sounds like a pain in the ass and eventually you will mess up

what do you mean

one account logged in & out, then another straight after and so on

so they notice that certain accounts(yours) all log in one after the other?

Theres no problem with this if both accounts are linked and are at the same address but different names. If they are different postal addresses then that may not be great to keep doing that on the same IP address.

He already mentioned changing the IP address, cookies, etc., so your obviously dealing with stealth accounts. You should be changing IP and user ID on your PC each time and it doesn't matter when you log on. :pop2:

There have been other threads on here suggesting to stagger your log ins.

If you have 5 accounts, don't check them one after another 2 or 3x a day in the same order. Stagger them a little and change it up every day.

I wouldn't think it could be that hard for them to set up a bot to see pattern of log ins.

Maybe they don't have it yet, but then again eBay has out smarted us before.

Why chance it?

Oh yes, that is what I mean. I got paranoid many years ago when new to stealth running and many different permutations of ways they track accounts ran through my head and this was one of the ways.

Nice one NTP, that is the better wording of this issue I was looking for: staggering log ins. I usually always do the staggering, but a few days ago I slipped up by only leaving a 10 minute difference on 2 accounts. Each one had all different IP, etc... but I still got worried. Nothing has happened yet though, but I won't do it again.

10 minutes? now try 10 seconds lol I log in and out of 10 accounts at a time 1 after the other 100's of times, only time I've been linked is when I forgot to change ip or clear cookies which might happen once in a great while but you'll get an e-mail telling you were linked to another user, never got an email saying I was linked to 9 other users.

^ same here - I have has no problems doing that either

GTB 08-09-2011 07:27 AM

yeah ebay king, well done for thinking outside of the box,but i don`t think you have to worry about this in particular, like the others said, they do this consistently without any issues

i thought about this before too but they need more than something like this to link you

just do everything else right and you will be okay,it is good to be extra careful, but you don`t want to be losing precious business time over something like this;)
