Verizon FIOS is dynamic. Just shut your router off for a few hours and you get a new IP address.

Buy a wireless router, switch between IP's in less than 4 seconds.

Should say in the book...

You'll need to access your router settings ( 192.168.1.1. for me, yours might be different), then go to MAC Clone --> Change WAN MAC.

can anyone provide detailed instructions? I looked in the book but I couldn't find it. I have Verizon Fios and I'm having trouble switching IPs without doing the 2 hour thing.

The problem is that Verizon FIOS has a modem/router. If you put a router in AFTER the Verizon/router, that MAC address, cloned or not, will not be seen from the outside world, the modem/routers will. It's the LAST MAC address before it hits the internet that is seen.

192.168.1.1, log in as admin, get to your settings page and click on renew, wait 10 secs turn modem off, wait another 10 mins and turn modem back on, works everytime for me!
