Other eBay users on my network...:O
 

Hi,

Bought the eBay stealth book a few days ago, and after reading through it, i am still clueless on how to do something:

It states in the e-book that eBay can track you through your IP address, so make a new one (have done that successfully) - it also says to not log into previous accounts on the new ip address.

however, i have other people on my network who use ebay who are registered to the same address as my suspended account. And those people will use the new network ip as what i want to use to get back on ebay. - can you see where my problem lies?

e.g.

Account 1 - suspended - Old IP Address
Account 2 - not suspended (wants to be kept that way) - Old IP Address
Account 3 - new account - New IP Address

Account 1 is registered to the same postal and IP address as Account 2,
Account 3 is registered to different address'.
Account 2 will be logged into on the new IP Address, therefore linking all the accounts together.


Is there any way around this? - I know that their is proxys, but i don't know if they are a good route to go down?

I've read alot around the forum and an inexpensive route is dial up from what I'm seeing well and adongle...thats pretty expensive though

the thing is that you have to be some kind of familiar with computers, networks, web, http, flash etc and not be on the very very begining level. if you are not, there is just too much info you should learn in order to understand this.

just get a different PC if possible, if not, format, clean OS install, different ISP, new name and contacts. otherwise you'll step up to the same sht.


not to let you down though, if you have some accounts that are about to be suspended/limited for any reason, just dont change anything at all. there are odds that if all stays the same there'll be no harm for the account. and it's rather opposite if you change a single thing it gets suspended second after.

Search the forum for info... There are plenty people here who can help you.

You do not need to Fresh install your pc or get a different PC.

Thanks for the responses, i wouldn't consider myself a 'noob', i am good with computers. Its just that i have never had to do this sort of thing before (done more coding, graphics and web design), an everyones got to start somewhere;)

Its just that i am on a mac, on the new OSX Lion, which makes doing most of this stuff a little trickier.

Price isn't a problem, i just need a stealthy way to get back on ebay, are dongles the way to go? I was also looking through the forums, and saw stuff about using VPN's, are they any good? surely my ip address would be traceable, and the 'connecting address' to the vpn?

If i do get a dongle/vpn, will ebay realise this and, 'Throw my account into close scrutiny' - as i saw the writer of the ebook said.

no...dongle's are widely used for stealth accounts....go for it

i personally recommend three mobile dongles!

talk talk is good for ip i have been told

don't think you need a dongle if your with talk talk!
