IJM,:) thank you for that answer. So because you did something 'different' with the account you trip something in ebay? I know that sound simplistic but....? trying to work with this matter.:rolleyes:

I just now tried it with another account and was able to duplicate it. I never got a flash cookie on this one, so I logged in with another IP from a different provider and right on the first page after logging in I got a flash cookie.

I found from experience though not completely sure that buyer accounts generally just get forced on a limit and have to enter a credit card and more personal information to get past buying limits to buy. eBay will suspend a buyer if reported, but ebay's bots seem not to auto-suspend, just limit buying activity or demand a credit card on signup.

I basically found out how to delete these flash cookies from your computer, so eBay won't be able to track you using the same computer.

Go to: Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel

When you arrive on this page, you will see something that looks like an image, IT'S NOT AN IMAGE! It's an actual list of all the flash cookies that are in your computer and that will stay in your computer! You have the choice of deleting whichever one's you want...

eBay hasn't implemented this policy 100%, so people, get your head's up quick...

I right clicked windows and the settings are not there to remove. Do I need to download something first?

There is something that looks like an image that will be right on the page...

It says beneath it: Note: The Settings Manager that you see above is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager. Click the tabs to see different panels, and click the options in the panels to change your Adobe Flash Player settings.

You should then be able to delete any flash cookies that you want...I am using Firefox and it worked for me... I am not sure about other browsers...

I dont use firefox because it slows my computer down so much that I gave up.

I logged into one of my accounts with the same IP range I created it with ...3 times within the same hour and never got a flash cookies. I changed the IP range and logged in a 4th time and there it was. It definitely checks for both the IP range and the flash cookies.

I tried this 'Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel' and it asked that I install Flash Player. I lowrred my security settings to medium from high, and it worked but showed no flash objects. This was using IE.

So with security on high, no flash objects are deposited?

ESTEBANWT, if you didn't see any flash objects in the control panel, then your computer doesn't have any flash cookies, their probably disabled.

Because you've turned your interest security up high, I don't think your browser accepts flash cookies....

Holy smokes I got it to work and there ebay was.

After reading what is being said here and reading about the announcement from ebay. I wonder why did they make a "formal" announcement? They made it so obvious. Did they do the samething when they launch their tracking software a couple years back? Maybe I am reading into this alittle to much, I don't know.

Off the subject, how do you make a new profile in Mozilla? I looked high and low, and found nothing.

What do you mean "privacy reasons"? eBay always likes to violate privacy.

Probably for 'supposed' privacy reasons! I have said it before ebay has to 'act' like they care so these announcements are made. Not that ebay will be honorable.

Just a few questions for anyone to answer. After reading the annoucement from ebay, I thought that this was alittle odd

If I was at a hotel or at a library, so common sense tells me that I am not at home to recieve phone calls.

Would they call me at home if I am on vacation in Rome(I live in CA). I think the this phone call thing really nonsense. I would assume that they are really making things very anal to even list.

And on a side note I did find the nasty flash cookie from ebaysecure in my other computor. Are they riding the fine line of using spyware??

I think their main objective is to catch sellers with multiple ⊗⊗⊗⊗ accounts. And really, you can easily beat that just by making different Windows user accounts. I let them deposit the cookies as they want, I don't care. They're all separate.

Is anyone else experiencing this? When I go to certain threads, like the vero thread, ebay cookies get loaded into firefox. I see them by going to "options" and "show cookies". Anyone else seeing this?
