If you give paypal your tax ID or EIN...can they view the info?
 

so far iv had stealth for months
followed all the rules
just been hit with an email from paypal to verify my social security or tax id number.
i cannot use my social because it is linked to a suspended account.

If i create a EIN with my real info, can paypal view the personal info from the EIN?

I have done this with a bank account. my bank account has my real info, but paypal has no access to the info because its all routing numbers only.

after about 2 hours of browsing forums i believe i have my answer,
dont give SSN. Give your EIN.
my question still...can PP See the info behind the EIN? (it has my real info)

nevertheless ebay gave me no choice. i created an EIN and submitted it to ebay!
After they recieved it PP thanked me and said they would stay in touch if they needed anymore info.
isit normal they ask that?
am i free and clear yet?

They most likely emailed me because i hit the 200 mark, sold over 200 items within the year.
i think they go after $20,000 in sales more than the 200 items? just guessing...

another thing.,..my theory on your EIN #...
in order to have a stealth account i needed a new bank account or CC.
i provided them new bank info (routing Number and account number)...but they cannot see the personal info of those said numbers.

Does the same apply for EIN? they can see the actual EIN # but not the personal info behind it?

Chevy, how has submitting the EIN # rather than the social work out for you? Can anyone chime in on personal experiences regarding using there EIN # when social is requested? Can they see your info?

They do not see the info on your EIN so you basically get a second chance at building a real business. Use it wisely
