That's not good, avoid any disputes with the person who sent the message, and keep your account clean for a while so your messages don't get read by eBay staff.
they wont see it unless they suspect enough to start looking deep. Just kiss his ass and tell him keep it, keep the money and give him a credit for next time if you have to.
Sucks but thats what ebay has made auctions like now.
just go ahead and delete it and go on like normal. Nothing you can really do anyway.
If you are not at any risk for anything then dont worry.
I cant see any situation that they would simply search emails for anything that will suspend you without some sort of provocation.
If they did then I would be suspended all the time. I put all kinds of stuff on those emails and no problems. Not addresses but just dont think its an issue.
Just dont keep doing it. lol
Is the customer happy? just keep them that way and you should be fine.
Yeah your right. Nothing can be done. At this point even if ebay sees the address ...
Its curcumstantial. ...at least I will tell myself that.
As for the customer..I refunded him and told him to keep the item.
He should be happy
And..this wasn't my fault...he misread the auction. The first email he sent me was with my addresss I could not stop it.
I'm nervous regardless..iv danced with ebay before but this time..there is a direct link..but in an email.
yeah your right.
its unanimous on my end. i can sit and explain the story...but im certain 100% right.
regardless i refunded him.
the issue wont go any further, where ebay will step in.
again, my situation is about having dangerous, linking info in my ebay inbox.
I feel ya, I've taken $90-$100 hits on some items just so the idiot buyers wouldn't take it up with ebay and having ebay shut me down. There's always a dummy messing it up for the rest, watcha gonna do right.
Did he get the address from your shipping label? You should really have a PO box for shipping address if home is burned. I have had customers use PayPal to ship a return back and if its a burned address it could cause an issue. Maybe a slim chance, but I dont like anything touching burned info. I dont like giving out my home address to buyers anyway...
@marysman78..tell me about it. this was the worst..one of the those buyers that explains in an essay format. for $15.
@pod..yes he got it from the shipping label...ebay doesnt know what address i put on my labels..sine i i dont use a tracking number...they never see it...it was risky..but i never excepted this buyer to put in the first em,ail he sent me.
@Granny_T...he got it from the package itself.
@pringles...i always resolve any issues outside of ebay via personal emails. there i can use any info i want seeing as ebay cant see it. this buyer never gave me a chance. he sent me 1 email in my ebay inbox stating he was unsatisfied with the item and wanted to return it to the address on the box. he said
'should i just return it to the address on that was on the package at 'XXXXXadressXXX'
the jerk just spelled it all out.
also.... how can i clear the trash folder on ebay? i tried..and there is no options for it.
No way would I ever put my real address on a package.
Can I ask why would you do that?
I see it this way, if the buyer tells me they want to return something I tell them to keep it and refund or on very few occasions I tell them I am going on vacation and please send the item to this address..... a PO Box. One I have not linked to any eb or pp account and only have it for things like this and other online purchases.
I always use my stealth address on my labels. So far, so good.
Like Ray said, refund and tell them to keep the item as well.
The Following User Says Thank You to Sandy D For This Useful Post:
On one account, I cross my stealth address out and just put the correct house numbers next to it on my international pkgs only.
IN that case the house numbers are not mine but an abandoned house down the street.
it is risky...but simply put..why not? ebay never sees it. i have had customers return items..only when we meet a solution via personal email.
im not saying im correct..but it hasnever been an issue.
i never expected a customer to just blatantly put that info in an ebay email.
@kingray...i have used a stealth address on the package before. no issues at all.
lets be honest..when do u except the first email received to have a complaint and my address.
i have sold over 200 items in3 accounts...i bounced around all the stealth.
again..ebay has no reason to look. my accounts are 100% positive and i have lifted my selling limits to an amount im comfortable with. ...
basically ebay has no reason to poke around and im not planning on calling them anytime soon for any reason.
