Default Can ebay track what websites you visit

I have two user accounts on my computer, I only visit this site (aspkin) on my regular user account, and keep the other user account just for ebay. But is there anyway ebay can track to see what websites iv been on, even if its on my other user account (that I keep only for ebay)

If so, isnt that a violation of privacy?

Absolutely not, you have to remember eBay is just a Company and like any other company they have rules and regulations which they can't break.

They can't - don't worry about this. I use this site all the time with eb open.

what about cookies from other sites, or do they just track cookies from their site alone.

Cookies are site specific so can't be seen by other sites.

Give ebay time, I'm sure they will eventually force users to share what websites they browse. Pretty soon were gonna have to start sending in blood to verify accounts, or worse stool sample!

That's not SO BAD... I mean, I'd be HAPPY to send them a stool sample!

Here is a similar question....sites like rent.com are owned by ebay. If I log into rent.com and use an email address that has suspended on ebay, will ebay be able to use this info to suspend my associated ebay account that shares the same ip?

If a site is owned by eb, I would expect that info to be stored on eb database.

ROFL!!!
It would be much easier to send in stool or urine samples actually!
I would collect a BIG BAG of my smelliest stool and send it to them!
Oh wait... would that get my account flagged??

I can imagine what the threads here would look like...
"what type of stools to send for stealth account".
"would soft stools get my account flagged?"
"do not send in less than 5 oz or more than 10 oz of stools"
"should I send in my stools immediately after creating a new account or wait a few days?"
"recommended food for getting the best stools"
"brown stools best for lifting restrictions - avoid light-coloured stools!"

Ermmmm.... OK, think I got carried away, and I hope you're not eating now.
But it's funny to think about it, isn't it??

Bad news!
What if the site was owned by eBay but managed by another org?
Tricky one, huh?
Yes, site a site exists and I'm gonna be using it.
I have been wondering about it.

Personal information given to any site cannot be shared amongst any other sites owned by that company or third parties unless you have given them permission to do so.

Just be careful what you tick when visiting or registering with any new sites.

If this is true, then eBay and Paypal should not be sharing our personal information and linking us.
Is there a clause on the eBay or Paypal agreement that states that we agree to the other party sharing our personal information?!?

Actually, in PayPal click profile then under notifications the last item that everyone needs to uncheck is permission to share info with eBay.

I bet this is checked by default.
But would you trust them not to share information even if this is unchecked?
If Paypal and EB are really not sharing information, then you can use the same Paypal acc for multiple stealth EB accounts and they will NOT be linked.
But do you think this will be the case even if you uncheck that box?
Anyone like to experiment?

Noone would trust this to be the case.
If they can hold people's money for 180 days as they like, do you think they care about your rights to privacy of personal information?
There is a long queue of people whom Paypal has robbed money from waiting to sue them... the people who might want to sue for privacy invasion are far behind! lol.
