AOL users advice needed

I don't know if this is a loop hole in AOL but I downloaded the AOL desktop tool bar yesterday and they asked me to sign up or put my log in info into the fields so I just hit "cancel" and I'm now surfing on aol. It's been like that all day today...BUT...

My question is this: aol doesn't seem to be changing my IP address.

It says the same even though I will quite aol and log in doing the same proceedure.

Yesterday I had one IP and shut down for the night and today I have a different IP after logging in this morning.

Even if I "restart" I still get the same IP.

Is this normal?

Is the IP a proxy that stays the same?

If so, how can I be sure that my IP can't be detected?

AOL's IP is the IP address of the AOL headquarters in Virginia. Millions of users use AOL. If you get suspended from eBay under AOL, just delete your footprints. There is no need to change IP address.

So your saying AOL IP pretty well stays the same, maybe changes to something else if I shut down?

And deleting my footprints you mean change my personal info like address,name, basically everything and it's safe again to use aol again?

also if you sell the same stuff useing aol as a banned id they put 2&2 togather and banned you for abuseing ebay
