IP Question...
 

Suppose:

· I have cable internet, and now I put in a new router that gives off wireless too;

· I have 3 devices: iPad, desktop, and laptop, each with thier own designated seperate stealth identities.

· The iPad is wi-fi (that connects wirelessly to the cable modem)

· The desktop connects to the modem by Ethernet Cable

· and a HP laptop that connects wirelessly to the same modem, but gets a DIFFERENT IP address than the wireless iPad does for some reason. (the first 2 numbers are the same, but the last 2 are different- always) I use whatismyip to check this with.

Are all 3 devices (and the accounts on them), safely isolated from each other, as far as IP goes?

Check the IP on each device and, if different, you're good to go.

So as long as the ip result in whatismyip.com or ipchicken or whatever other site I use shows different ips between sites, that's all the reassurance I need? Even when the first 2 numbers are the same on two devices, as long as the full ip number is different than the other, i'm totally good?

As long as the ip address is different it's fine. It can even be off by just one digit and it will still be fine. You can check the correct ip each time by going to ipburger.com

I keep track of all my Ips and check them each time.

If you get a new one or one that has been used on the account before you are as rsot said good to go.

A different digit is all you need.
