IP tracking via wireless router at home
Hello all, I am fairly new to this forum and have found it to ve very informative . My powerseller ebay account was recently suspended for no reason. While I am trying to proove this :(:(:( with Ebay customer service, I am looking for a way to get back on eBay. I have been using 2 laptops at home which are now flagged with eBay. I have an extra desktop that was not used for eBay, and I am thinking of using it for the new eBay account. The question I have is....
I have a DSL connection and also a wireless NETGEAR router to be able to use wireless connection at home. While I understand that each computer gets assigned a unique IP address, I also read somewhere that 'sometimes' a router can assign a previously used IP address or same IP address to a computer? Do you have any thoughts on that? I want to cover all the bases before using the new desktop for eBay purposes... I assume I dont need to reset the IP on the new desktop becuase I havent used it for eBay, but how do I ensure that it doesnt get same IP as my other 2 notebooks? Thanks so much in advance for your advice!
