Can eBay trace your LAN card and hard drive?

Just about to create some stealth accounts for testing. I re-installed my Windows, created different user accounts, have my IP working with dail up in PPPoe setting. However, I just read a guy in other forum saying eBay can track your LAN card and hard drive codes. Does anyone have information about this?

This is a nonsense rumour that has no proof.

The only thing about your LAN card they can track is your MAC address like what Amazon is doing, but eBay is not tracking it. MAC address can easily be changed or spoofed anyways.

they are not tracing anything just ip. years ago i had kept changing nic cards based on the info at the time and it was not that it was always iP address...
