always having to change MAC address - what am I doing wrong?
 

Hi everyone,

Quick question - when I log on to my stealth account I've been changing my IP address (so I'm not linked to my REAL, ACTIVE paypal account). However, every time I go to change the IP (disconnecting modem and router for 2+ minutes), it doesn't change. Thus, I have to follow the typical instructions of logging into my modem, changing the mac address, unplugging the modem, then checking IP chicken - and THIS always works.

Here's the problem - this is becoming a HUGE pain in the butt. This process takes me 5+ minutes each time and I usually log in and out 20-30 times per day. And if I'm going to have multiple stealths, this is REALLY going to get annoying.

Any help is much appreciated. :)

I'm about to buy a USB internet stick/dongle. I believe all you do is just plug it in & out and you get a new IP address.

that sounds interesting. let me know how that works out (and if it does change IP every time).

Yes most usb modems aka dongles change ip's everytime you connect and disconnect. Most are on prepaid or postpaid just do a google search.

Dongles, mifi and tether does repeat Ip's though...

I use all 3 and all of them have repeated IP's numerous times...

I get most variations of IP from dedicated broadband... I too got a bit lazy with turning on and and off router so I attached a power strip with extension cord near my PC so that I could just hit the power switch on power strip instead instead of router...lol
