how to connect to netzero dial-up?

right now i have dsl, the modem is connected to the computer by ethernet cable, and the modem is connected to the phone line by the phone cable
i need to connect to netzero dial-up, do i leave my modem the way it is? when i do that, i get an error saying that another program is using my modem, what do i need to do?
