-Internet devices

Sorry if its been covered but the search feature seems to be down.

-Im considering getting a few Clear wireless sticks (the internet provider you can just plug into the laptop) Has anyone had any hands on experience. Say if I want to manage 10 accts at once using diff user accounts OR maybe 10 laptops for that matter...and for every ebay/ppl set use an internet device. Will that keep everything separate and secure? :spy:

10 Laptops? that's a bit extreme. Setup all your User Accounts on your laptop/PC or both.
I only have experience with T-Mobile Rocket 4G prepaid. The best way to manage many accounts is to keep a log of the IP's and the account used.

lol wow...
You only need 10+ users, not laptops.
They divide cookies and such on each account.
Also, purchasing 10 USB sticks is also not needed.
If you get the same sticks from the same provider, they will share the same IP pool.

All you really need is to watch out for IP addys and linking via logging on to an account by mistake.

1 laptop + 10 user accounts on laptop + 1 clearwire dongle = win

qleverett88 12-16-2012 10:01 PM

oops sorry. so 1 laptop ten user accounts. the e-book offer diff ideas but if you guys were going to be working 10 accounts then what method would you recommend for avoiding IP's biting you.
My current set up is i have comcast on a Desktop laptop (that I never use personally). I access internet on my laptop via wifi....any advice ?

..advice considering if I go and get a internet usb stick... $35 a month I think so i want to make it could

GhostWhoWalks 12-17-2012 05:26 PM

You might need 10 satellites! They are about $150 million each! I am sure you can get a discount by NASA if you buy a dozen for bulk discounts! ;)

I mean you only need 1 PC, static IP dedicated! 10 user accounts, each account under it's own IP. As hackteck said, get a DONGLE!

Oh and the satellites was a joke! ;) :bounce:

I would not use Clear since they have a very narrow IP address range. If you are talking about using the USB 4g sticks, the IP address on those dont change, you would have to go with the wifi box thing (forgot the name). The IP address does change in those but again, they have a very narrow IP range.

Why dont use phone tethering, go over to Virgin Mobile, buy a cheap phone with Android and wifi. Or better yet, buy a used cheaper phone off ebay, root the phone, install a wifi tethering program and you should have tons of more IP address.

They use the Sprint cellphone towers so you get more in the IP range. Clear uses the dead Wimax radio format that wont be expanded anymore to more cities, they plan to drop it and go LTE in the future. If they can get the extra funds for more expansion.

Virtual box or vmware might be something worth looking into as well.

i think i want to go with getting the usb. anyone have experience ? im just trying to wrap my mind around how to do it. let alone 10 accounts

yotano211 12-18-2012 06:55 AM

I have plenty experience with Clear, the USB devices does not change the IP. You will need 1 per account in order to survive on ebay. You if you want to do that, be prepared to pay a min of $35/month per USB device per account.

But its your money, so go ahead.

1 Clear device - 10 user accounts on the computer is a smarter move - unless you need all accounts active at the same time..
