IP changing help

Hey guys, i've been reading around for a day or two on how to change my ip address, but I still dont understand how to. My computer is connected to the modem, but there is also a router here because there is a computer in the other room. I tried the method that MRJOSH posted, but that did not work for me. I'm guessing I need to use the router method for changing my ip? What is the easiest way to do this? I really need to get back on ebay!! :mad:

But my computer does not run on the router. The router is for the other computer. So do i still need to use the router method or can i use the direct method?

Most easisest thing if you want to get back on ebay quick is to simply get aol dialup. Its only $11.99 a month not bad speeds for a dialup either.
