Logging in

Ok something I have never fully understood.

When you log into a website from a certain IP address, and then whilst logged in you log in with another, can it see that second IP address?, or only the one that was used to log in?

I want to log into a US website to pay some sharges, I usually use a USA VPN, but I want to pay the charges with a UK Paypal. Can I log in with my USA VPN, then change to a UK IP address when I have logged in?.

As you navigate a website it will keep note of the IP address each time you load a new page. So if you log into EB for example using a US IP then switch to a UK IP to browse EB will be able to see that.

Hmmm I see. Better not to risk it then.

Although....I regularly log in to Ebay and PP with VPN and sometimes the connection drops, haven't had any problems in those cases

consider yourself lucky, VPN can be very dangerous to your account if not handled carefully. with due experience you can master it and use it to your benefit.

Strongvpn works nicely, as do all the Windows based VPS I have tried.

careful handling and experience are needed to have a successful VPN or VPS no matter what is the provider. of course very popular ones are not advised as overusing can kill it.

Glad you are having success with StrongVPN Sax4, few other people have been telling me of "uber" failures

sax4 05-10-2013 10:58 AM

Yeah I don't get it to be honest, I have been using it for ages, switching servers all over the place, never had an ip related problems that I know of.

It's a god send because I travel all over the place, and have accounts all over the place.

Anyway I shouldn't promote it too hard ;)

As long as you spread the risk :)
