Can ebay find out more precise location info about you than an estimate from the ip address? I have a vps that has a virginia ip address, but if i allow IPBurger to use google chrome's location service it shows the location as japan, which is probably where the datacenter is located (i have to accept sharing this info). Also chrome gives me the japenese google site when I'm on the vps because of chromes location info. So my question is can ebay get this more exact browser location info?

If you can find it out, eB can certainly find it out. I try to stay out of tin foil hat mode however...that's quite the search for them to take: I figure maybe if big problems need to be investigated
connect the vps through firefox not through ubuntu
The operating system of the vps is ubuntu, a flavor of linux. I connect to the vps using a remote desktop viewer, and can then use the internet with a browser like firefox or chrome, except firefox is giving me problems. I will try fixing my firefox on my server

I agree with Greenbean. I've used Linux with firefox without any hassle. Something else in your operating system, perhaps as simple as deleteing and reloading all your net frame work from the ground up will fix your problem.(it's not nearly as hard or labor intensive as it sounds.)
