Does eBay track through your port number?
 

Say I am using a number of proxies on a number of stealth accounts. All the proxies have different IP addresses, diversified in different locations throughout the world. All the port numbers on the proxies are the same. an eBay link the accounts due to all the proxies having the same port and the same ISP?

Are you using VPN? I would not be worried about the port numbers so much as Ebay detecting your proxies...they can do this if an IP is severely flagged

I would be much more worries about the fact that you are using proxies. Better methods available.

Last choice of access to use eBay is a proxy for any country

I have always used proxies for my stealth accounts and I have never seemed to have a problem with them.

I use premium anonymous proxies. I do not use transparent proxies.

I use proxies that are exclusive to me. No other users have access to the IP address. I do not use shared proxies.

When I do a whois lookup on my proxies, no proxy services are detected. The IP's are not flagged.

Is using proxies such a bad thing? Obviously I would never use a transparent proxy or a proxy with a flagged IP. How would eBay even know I was using a proxy? Apart from the added security benefit of encrypting the information over a VPN, how is using a VPN any better from a detection point of view?

Willing to learn. Please enlighten me?

eB tracks IPs and many proxies have been used soooooooo many times by people that eB can easily crosslink them, especially the popular VPNs. VPS's have some success but you must get one that is not so used/available to the public.

Yes, I do think that using a private proxy is relatively safe. This is based purely on my own personal experience.

Are you suggesting that eBay and PayPal could flag an account merely based on your ISP (and not specifically because you are using a flagged IP)?

If this is the case, I don't understand how a VPN would be any different/ better than a proxy in this regard.

BTW - I don't access any of my accounts from the same IP that I used to access this forum. I have a unique IP address for each eBay/ PayPal account and I only use these IP's to do PayPal/ eBay (not for web browsing or accessing forums).

@ebaymahem, posts have been clear about this - if you feel that the proxy is working for you, go ahead then.

And YES eB/pp can flag an account based on just the IP.

EB can and will suspend an acct. for ANY reason they justify to be a threat of ANY type to their community.
