Does ebay or paypal track browser plugins?
 

I was checking what information that was easily available to ebay or paypal at this link here: Your Computer's Identity

At first it doesnt show all details, but when it clicked on "Test Again" it shows all plugins that are installed in my chrome browser.

My question is does ebay or paypal use plugins details to link accounts?

I guess its safe since many users use plugins like betterprivacy and are still running stealth accounts without linking issues...

It is not just plugins that you have to worry about, although that IS a big part of it. The technique to be concerned with is called Browser Fingerprinting. If you want to see how unique your computer is compared with millions of others, go to:

As far as I know, eBay is NOT currently using this technique, but Amazon DOES. In any event, it is ALWAYS better to be safe, in my opinion. The people who claim I am being paranoid usually end up, a few months later, posting something like "TEN of my accounts all went down at once! HELP!!!

Agree on safety - I like to vary up my browser use for Amazon - eB seems to be fine right now but still on top of any changes that are made as time goes on...this forum is great for that :thumb:
