Straight Talk Iphone Tethering

Does anyone here use an Iphone to tether IP's and have straight talk as their mobile provider?

Straight Talks service is only $45 per month and allows for unlimited data (i heard you would have to jailbreak it first to be able to set up as a "personal hotspot" on straight talk)

Does anyone do this/done it?

I use Verizon right now and basically there are unlimited IP addresses, would straight talk be the same? If I am only stuck to 5 IP addresses obviously that would be useless.

Thanks

I have not done this, but you would need to keep your data usage to a minimum. I have seen posts elsewhere about people losing their accounts for trying to use it mainly for the internet. Tethering is specifically prohibited by their terms of service.

My guess is they wouldn't look at it unless you were using a lot of bandwidth. But that is just my GUESS.

I don't think I would use a ton of internet.

Just for stealth's, otherwise I would use the modem. I don't know how long that would be, I am sure atleast 30+ hours a month though. Saying that it sounds like a lot now.. I am not sure.

I think I read somewhere that they mainly use verizons network now? I did read a few forums on it a couple of months ago, it does seem like you'll need to jail break your phone if you're using an iphone, not sure on android.

Have been searching and found out that straight talk is pathetic, and they turn people "unlimited" wifi off when they just use it to check the web because that is to excessive.

I don't want to go with a company like that, it will be a disaster.

Maybe it is best to stay with verizon and claim the dongle I am using as a tax deduction (I don't use it for anything other than business) Meaning that the $30 a month this is costing I will just end up taking that off the taxes, which would be $360 less the taxes. Would that work?

It would taking 360 off your taxable incoming, meaning that you would pay 28%,33%..etc of the 360 less to the IRS if you have business income to deduct it from.
