Alternatives to changing IP address by changing MAC address & rebooting router?
 

I am currently out of town and need to work. I have quite a few separate eBay and Paypal accounts. How can I access them without logging into the router and changing the mac address? Thank you!

Dongle or phone tethering work a treat if your on the move.

@natashaiera, are you work on a laptop or mobile computer with the cookies of these accounts in place? Or trying to access computer from out of town? Please clarify

Would need to be careful, for sure.

Next time consider closing shop rather than risk the accounts.

Going to sound boring but keep all accounts going OK for the holidays ahead.

Avoid risking any.

Pretty easy if you have the original computer with the accounts ON it nat - remote access is a bit trickier.

If you are planning ahead of time, it may be worth setting up remote access to your desktop (remote desktop, gotomypc...etc) and then you can work as if you were normally at home. It may be more or less complicated depending on what router you have, but if you just need to change mac and then reboot the modem, then the only consideration is making sure you are able to find the new IP address (you can use dynamic dns services, or go to my pc (or similar) will mean you dont need to find the IP but you may need to wait a few minutes before logging in again). You should test your remote solution before going out of town, for example going to a coffee shop down the street, making sure you can log in, reset the IP and log in again.

Good test but don't log in on to the account on that coffee shop IP. :)
