Ebay IP tracking that doesn't make sense
 

Try to explain what I did yesterday and the "nonsense" feedback I got from EB:

I am based in Italy, northern Italy.
I always check my IP with ipburger before changing stealth account on my pc to log into EB or PP. I do not write it down but I want to be sure is different between the 2 accounts.

Yesterday I wanted to change email address of one of the EB accounts

did the procedure registered and confirmed the new email

got a message on the old email address saying that the changed has been made and indicating the host ip.... this one:

Indirizzo IP: 188.28.2xx.xxx
Host ISP: 188.28.2xx.xxx

This is for sure none of the IP I usually get... it is not even from my ISP. I do not use proxyes or anything and I am on wired ADSL (no wifi).
Checked this IP online it is from UK (????)

Any explanation?

I'm fairly sure this is a UK IP.

No idea how this has happened... although i often get IP's from over 100 miles away from where i am.

Definitively is a UK IP. Moreover is definitively not the IP I got from IPBurger.

Trying to understand a bit here - you contacted eB via...phone or e-mail?

Did not contact them. Just went in my account->settings-> to change email address associated with the account. They sent an email to the new email address for activation (with link to click) and an email to the old address saying more or less this:

"the associated email address has been changed to email@email.icom. If it was not you please follow this link.. .and bla... and bla...

the request for email modification was from Ip xxx.xxx.xxx and Host ...etc"

Just checked my usual IPs are in the range 151.60.xxx.xxx (from IP Burger) which is correct. It is my Italian ISP provider.
Anybody has some explanation for this werid (to the least) thing?
