Accessing Paypal/eBay emails from hotmail
 

Right for ages now, I've been reluctant to open any eBay and Paypal emails via Hotmail in the fear that there are tracking cookies or beacons attached to the emails which Hotmail are unable to block. Could someone confirm if this is true and how to disable any images/other stuff when accessing mail through hotmail/live. Thanks a bunch!

Make sure the images are turned off!.

When you open your emails does it give you the option to click a button which says 'display external content' to show images?

Images are turned by default on hotmail, but you should test with an email from another. Company to make sure.

Do as Just_smile says & Dont click any images or links in an email.

If you are unsure then only open your emails for that account on the actual user account you are using for that ebay.

Images and beacons can be turned off in options OP.

Like what Bunneh said, dont click images.

I am still a fan of responding to e-mails when logged in on the eB account...just saying

Ok got it, however does the same apply to Paypal emails too? Please tell me which are the exact beacons that could cause a linkage. I'm guessing its the listing photo. Apart from this i cant think of anything else that can cause a link in the emails. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

P.S I selected the option "Ask before displaying external images" and yet it still opens all images in an email. Is there anything else i should be doing (just for Gmail)?
