ATT MIFI and ATT Beam
 

Just wanted to post something for future knowledge for anyone/everyone.

I have been using an ATT MIFI device (5G for $50.00). I have had a ATT Beam laying around that I bought off EB a few months back, but I had not used it or activated it yet. On my ATT MIFI, I am getting a lot of reoccurring IPs, which isn't too too bad because I just keep turning it off and on until I get a fresh IP or an IP that belonged to the USER ID i am trying to get in. Anyhow, I had called ATT to see if adding service to this data account would get me more IPs. OF COURSE, the sales guy says it will. So I add this device to my plan which is now gonna be 4G for $70.00 (1G less but now I have 2 devices spitting out more IPs, so I thought).

What a freakin waste. The ATT Beam was spitting out the same IPs that the MIFI had already used. Got my account switched back around, but wanted to note this in case anyone else had the same brain fart that I did. Hopefully this will save someone an 1.25 hours of being on the phone with ATT.

I have AT&T for service on my iPad and the range is also very small and the IPs I do get are exactly eh same except for the last digit

I feel verizon gives the largest pool of IPs

The pool I have isn't too bad. It's around 400. I have 4 different ranges of pre-fixes though. I am really hoping that after some time passes that I get some more pre-fixes.

Force your devices to use 3G only. LTE/4G/WiMax is still limited.
