From DSL to AT&T U-Verse ?

So I've been on AT&T DSL for a while and love the ability to switch IPs as it's as simple as resetting the modem. Less than a minute, switched.
However, I got a call from AT&T that DSL is currently being discontinued for AT&T U-VERSE services which ditch the copper.
They claim that AT&T U-VERSE is Fiber Optic based.
I've avoided most high speed services due to the fact that many of them have Static IPs, or that they don't change as often as I'd like.

The problem with this is that I would prefer to have a Dynamic IP, obviously for stealth reasons. Big IP pools preferred.
I was told I could choose between a Dynamic IP and Static IP. No one told me how easy it was to switch with this new equipment, or how large the pool is.
Does anyone have any experience with AT&T U-VERSE bundled internet service yet? Any problems or comments on this service?

It seems attractive for the pricing, which is why they are pushing it; but being quite clear with these requirements, you never know these days..
Should I go with this, or go with something else?

The general sensus is that UVERSE is not good for stealth. Same with Comcast X-Finity and Verizon FIOS

See if they offer a modem only and run your own router, seems no one has had success with this yet.

This seems to be a permanent switch by AT&T. Nothing I can do about it but move to another service..
Sucks because I was considering adding another business line for employees.

I'm at a loss. Any suggestions? We have Time Warner Cable and Comcast in the area.. Not sure what to do now.
These companies seem to buy everyone out and then form their own rules.

Again, see if ATT offers a modem only instead of router/modem in one.

AT&T uverse router/modem combo by 2wire has a permanent ip address built into it can only be changed by a technician and not regularly. I spent 3hrs the last to days trying to talk to them about it. Don't do it!

Thanks for all the tips guys. I'm keeping my DSL for the time being. However, AT&T says they have the right to offer and possibly switch me over at a moments notice.

If my DSL gets junked by force, I'll move to another DSL or Cable provider in my area. I found a couple options; NetZero is one of them.

I have a family member who works for AT&T. He told me they don't allow you to have their DSL at the same residence if you even just have U-Verse for the TV. So you are stuck. Which is funny because I have both but being billed to different people. Haven't caught me so far. I use the U-Verse Internet to run all my VPNs. The DSL is for main "legit" eBay acct.
