Quick Question about Resetting Modem/Router
 

Hi guys!

Just a quick question for the pros...

I have Comcast Cable Internet, and I connect wirelessly through a Netgear router. My question is...when I switch user accounts on my computer and then change the MAC address, it seems that my IP address changes automatically between accounts. I check ipburger, and it shows a different IP address immediately after changing the MAC address. So, is it necessary to unplug the router and modem if the IP address is already changed? If not, I have been wasting a lot of time running ~10 accounts and taking about 10 minutes to change between each account. Thanks in advance!!

Hmm.. sounds like your modem auto resets when it detects the router's MAC address change..

As long as your IP address changes you're good to go.

Yes, the internet completely disconnects and reconnects when the MAC address is changed. This is gonna make life so much easier, thanks again for your input!
