changing ip for optima cablevision
 

Just talked to optima cs rep, and when I asked him about
changing ip, his answer was to disconnect router for a few hours, and new ip will be assigned, anybody tried it?
Another way is to order from optima cablevision so called smart router, best part is that it is free of charge.

I think he is asking how to change ip on optima internet and if anyone has tried it... correct me if i'm wrong OP.

i did not ask how to change ip, I gave supposdly easy way to do it

guys, i am glad to inform you that it works, i disconected power supply to router, it was off all night, and in the morning I got new ip, this is for optima cablevision in ny,

Nice OP - usually if you just disconnect for, like, 30 secs to 1 min and reconnect, you will get new IP

So you need to do it again and again, everyday? is it effect for your work?

yea, it is a problem, would have to be done very often, and in my case router has to be diconncted all night, not just a few hrs
