MiFi Type Devices for Ebay & Paypal
I've been looking into buying a MiFi type device for stealth use. I recently had a situation where my main line was down for an entire week without repair. Needless to say, I lost some sales and now wish I had a good and reliable backup.
I've seen some mention on of the forum regarding the Verizon MiFi (4620L, 4510L, Novatel 2200, Jetpack, ETC), 4G & 3G comparisons, but still not sure what I should pull the trigger on what to buy. I've also heard of official alternate services, such as Freedompop, which apparently gives you 500MB per month, for free, for life as long as you are in their coverage area; pretty much akin to the deals you would get when you buy a brand new qualifying HP Chromebook.
I have the technical knowledge to flash devices myself, but I need reliability (no one wants something breaking down when they absolutely need it); I know there's a method to the madness and would like to know more of what I could do to make sure my personal solution doesn't become a problem. I know some topics exist about this already, but things get outdated every now and then, plus some of the topics have been moved to the VIP section.. Obviously, this would be used for stealth reasons, so I'd preferably like a larger IP pool, but I've heard mixed reviews on these devices. I just don't want to pay for a service and then, to my surprise, have it end up having a static IP.
Now that I'm looking into this a bit more seriously, can anyone recommend anything that currently still works? |
