Tethering > the phone or the sim

Any ideas were the IP address comes from is it the phone or the sim .
My dilemma is that I used the app on iPhone before on account now banned
. I now want to use my iPhone to tether for accounts I have on pc .
Just worried that an old IP address may flag up . Wondering if I changed my sim card would I be certain of not duplicating an old ip
So in a nutshell does the IP address come from the sim

It comes from the network.

If the SIM is on 3 network then popping in a new 3 SIM card will get you the same range.

I understand that I'm wondering what my chances will be of hitting a previous used IP . And would changing the sim or phone or number reduce or eliminate that chance

I would not worry about it too much.

Just make sure you track your IP addresses from now on.

If you really want to make sure your IP does not repeat go with a new ISP

This question makes sense though. In my own case, I have been on sky broadband before I got suspended. Now, I will be working on dongle everytime I need to connect to a new ebay account. What is my chances of hitting the same old IP from sky?

Sky is dynamic, is it not?

I would say from my personal perspective on using tethering you usually will get a IP already used generally 1 out of every 50 times you change the IP.

I've had it where I have to go into airplane mode 3-4 times just to get a NEW IP. Not sure why but it has happened to me before. Like stated above just make sure you track from now on and you should be fine. :thumb:
