tracking via e-mail
 

from what Ive read on forum, some have said they think you can be tracked, others you cant.

I noticed on gmail that you can send an e-mail to an address and under details, can see the IP of the recipient, without them even opening your e-mail.

so does this mean that ebay can send you an e-mail, check your IP and therefore see if you log on with them or paypal under seperate account but same IP?

You see the ip address of the server sending the email. That's it.

Just use GMail and you'll be fine. Gmail does a good job at protecting it's users.

What about gmail but through outlook? Does the header contain the orignal IP, plus the gmail IP if you send it via POP or IMAP? I was always wondering that..

Header does not have IP. As he said Gmail blocks access to it.

Impossible to get IP of sender from gmail. Try sending yourself a mail and look for your IP in the sender's header

Exactly. They will only be able to see the Gmail server IP. Outlook would be no different as Outlook is just a Shell. It still used Gmail's servers to send/receive messages.
