Nooo did I link my accounts??
 

Hi everyone, I've been using a stealth account alongside my normal account for a few years now, and a few weeks back I did what I always dreaded doing - I forgot to activate the VPN and logged straight into my stealth account!

Nothing's happened yet, but I'm assuming that the stealth account should now be dropped? An eBay rep once advised me that they only link accounts if there's a reason to investigate them, and they manually find matching IP numbers.

It's been a few weeks now, I'm wondering how realistic it is that eBay would keep IP numbers for such a long time?!

Anyway, if you're experienced at this, please do give me your opinions. Currently both accounts are still running, but I do feel a bit nervous.

Ebay keep account details forEVER, they are like the proverbial elephant, they never forget! Make new stealth accounts, and move on. You can keep listing on that one as long as you can get away with it, but you must have back up accounts waiting in the wings to take over

Yeah dont worry about it, nothing you can do now just be more careful in future maybe look into vmware to avoid confusion

Lots of us have had one off frights like this.

Make sure to avoid repeating them.

One time is unlikely to causing a bad link - careful moving forward...if you need to, you can use the Excel tool on this forum to log your IP addresses.

Not sure what OS you are using, but on linux you can set iptables to only allow traffic on local network or vpn, that way you CANT forget to turn on your vpn. There are also firewall programs, although in my experience they are too simple to allow something custom like that.
