Help with Verizon Fios Actiontech Router IP Change
 

Hello,
New the the forum hello! =}-

I while back one of my stealth's that i was using was linked to old account. Now its time for me make another one. I'm Having a lot of problems changing my IP. I know my way around a computer but, i have never had so many problems with something a basic as this. I keep getting assigned the same ip. I checked my IP is Dynamic so I'm not sure whats my problem. I tried every method i know of. I keep getting assigned the same IP. I've changed it in the past within minutes. Now it refused to give up my lease on the public IP.

Here is some info
I have a Actiontech router Verizon Fios. If it matters I use Verizon for both my TV and house phones as well.


Here is what I already tried "multiple" times
1.Logged into router and released a renewed DHCP. Left it off for about 2 hours still same ip. Did this multiple times with different waiting periods ranging from 5mins-4-5 hours.
2. Unplugged Router and left it off overnight 7 hours to be exact. Did this 2 times.
3.Completely Reset my router left it off for 5 hours.
4. Ipconfig /release renew in CMD.
5.Changed IPV4 though properties.
6. I even called Verizon and asked them to release it on their end. They did nothing happened. Even reset the modem to my home nothing. All they set was to reset my router.

Any clue what I'm doing wrong and why it keep assigning me the same IP. Any Ideas?

Welcome aboard! Multiple solutions available for resolving this issue, can look into getting a different router or using a reliable VPN/VPS or doing something like tethering, etc

Thank you! I looked into tethering saved me from my headache.I will just have to build a spread sheet of my IP's used.
