Can ebay track you through the items you sell
 

Hey guys, Ive been wondering if ebay can track you through the items you sell. I.E. if you only sold vintage trains on a suspended account and started selling them again on a stealth account.

Exactly the same listings can cause problems.

Re-using photos/images is known to link.

Vary up as much as possible.

Use batch cleaner to remove any metadata there might be on those photo's, take photo's in different setting, lighting, and only 1 or 2 of the old items depending on how many of those items you have and how many items you currently have listed on your stealth account, from that you can work how easy it would be to 'lose' those older items amongst your current items.

I've had situations where I need to shift some stock when I lose an account and I've spread the items across other accounts without any problems thus far. I do however take extreme care when re-listing something that I've listed once already.
I take new photos, write up new descriptions, add different titles and try to add item specifications that I've not used with my previous listing.
I also set a different price point, postage countries, prices and time. I also change the buyer requirements and return option.

Basically, everything that I've done already I avoid in the future.

Also I believe it does matter how many items you are re-listing and what the gap is between the two listings. For example, if you lose an account with 100 listings in the morning and then two hours later start listing exactly the same items, same titles and descriptions on other account, you'll most likely run into problems.

Take extra care, spend that extra time to avoid any similarities and take it slow- You shouldn't have any problems, if you do so. Rush it, and you might run into problems.

If everything is different (photos, description, price, postage terms) - no.

I used different photos and different style of wording and I'm up and running, no problems.

its been a hit an miss for me sometimes I take the time and change it all up sometimes i dont depends on how much time i have....changing everything is always better

It all depends how creative you get, the more unique the better chance of them not detecting. Removing exif data from images is also important.

EmpireState is right... avoid that manual review. With all the little details you change to make your listings unique to your old account, it's extremely important that you run a trouble-free account (even more so now) because any problem or blip that would cause them to manually review it may stand out more than all the normally tracked bot-recognized things. Staying UTR by quick shipping and fast problem resolution is key in the first place, in a stealth account selling the same things it's tripple as important.
