AT&T Adding a Router to change ip? Dynamic Ip

I called At&t and they told me that I have a dynamic ip. I still have uverse and use a gateway modem. I have a spare router I use to use for changing ip on comcast. If I connect it to the gateway modem will that work?

Get a Verizon 3G wifi or USB stick 3g .. comcast and att verse most of the times give same ip ...

That will work and AT&T IP pool isn't that bad, but try to get your hands on a verizon Mifi which has a much larger IP pool
