Thunderbird for all email accounts

Hey guys,

I just don't get how these web beacons work... I've added a couple of email accounts to Thunderbird (Display Attachments Inline is off and Message Body is set to plain text) and used them for a day.

Today I've logged into one of my PayPal accounts (email used in Thunderbird) and it asked me for verification via text. It can be a coincidence because it was on a new VPS (clean one though), but I've never encountered such a thing unless on a blacklisted IP.

Hopefully, it was gone when I restarted the browser and afterwards withdrew money with no problems.

So what could go wrong? Does PayPal know when I read an email from them in a plain text mode?

Also, does my email provider (e.g. Gmail) get my IP when I add/use email account in a mail client? Can mail accounts of a same provider be linked when I use multiple ones in a mail client?

Thanks

It knows when you have remote images turned off because it notices the email's images aren't getting downloaded and viewed. As far as "plain text" formating, I don't think paypal has that information since your client downloads the HTML and everything and simply strips the HTML in thunderbird, something paypal is unaware of.

Uhh, yeah, gmail needs to know your IP to send you your email to your computer. You could change your public IP through a VPN or socks5 proxy, which cost money.
