Installing windows on external hard drive
 

Ive installed windows on an old external drive I had, would like basically just be like VM ware in the sense its like a new pc id be logging on from?

Could this also work for amazon for going stealth. thanks

I'm having a very hard time understanding what you wrote. Did you install a full version of windows on your external hard drive, or did you have windows VMs on your external hard drives?

Yeah this will work for stealth purposes, when you install another windows on a hard-drive after your computer passes it's startup bios it should ask you which version of windows you want to run, it will basically be a new machine.

It's the same method of VMware, just lacking the convenience.

Yeah agree it can be a bit of an inconvenience having an external HD, only done it because I found it when having a clear out and thought id be better of putting it to use. thank for clearing that up :-D

I had this exact SSD/Flash drive, and I do not recommend it.
The drive has some pretty bad thermal issues, and will start overheating after about 5 minutes of intensive use. When that happens, the drive limits you to a worthless 20MB/s write speed.

This is a widely known issue for a lot of people, just check the reviews.

The controller chip it uses wasn't designed to be crammed into a small space like that. On a typical 2.5" full size SSD, it has enough metal to disperse the heat away from the controller chip. Not the same situation in a tiny case like that.

im using a 500gb external HD and have a few 250gb externals lying around so will use them.
