ebay sending cookies through other emails!!
 

ok, I am new here but have been reading for a while. I am just now getting to understand this cookie thing. Well today I was watching my cookies, erasing manually with firefox etc. Well, I was checking email and got an email with this as subject...Eat in & save with coupons & recipe plus 3 Day Sale!‏.... well it was the only email there and I opened it, well it was a huge graphic email with a bunch of advertising, as it was downloading I happened to look at the bottom of my screen and it said downloading from ebaystatic.com. After I opened email, I checked my cookies and sure enough I had an ebay cookie on there iip or something like that. The reason I say this is because I had just cleaned all my cookies and had not opened anything related to ebay before that. Do I sound crazy or did you guys already know this?

Are you using Gmail?

no, msn. also, after i deleted cookies, I went to sight and checked cookies, had like 5 ebay cookies, try it. sight is shaws.com

Just use Gmail for email, you're getting into things you don't really understand and won't affect your accounts if you're following eBay Stealth.

aspkin is correct. If you use an email other than gmail, then you can & do have problems. aspkin advised me ages ago about gmail. I 'surf' heaps, open all sorts of deals like you mentioned. Where it is not gmail, I have these cookies. SO gmail for safety.:amazed:

Whenever I log into a hotmail account, I see rover.ebay.com loading and well eBay's loading its ads in that account and they place cookies on you. It does this even when your browser doesn't load pictures. However, if you had no ebay cookies before and delete your cookies right after then eBay shouldn't be able to find out who you were.
