EntroPay monthly dormancy fees - anyone had them?

If you make no purchases, don't upload any money etc, then EntroPay mark your account as deactivated after 6 months for being dormant. Fair enough - is in the T&Cs.

Just wondered if anyone has also then received another fee a month later for the same thing?

I have, yet it isn't properly in the recent, 2011 T&Cs (the current ones) and was instead quoted out-of-date 2009 T&Cs by their customer service.

In brief, the T&Cs state that after being dormant for 6 months the account is "deactivated" and receives a fee. If it remains "deactivated", any funds left in there incur a fee every month until they're used up. To reactivate the account (i.e. to un-"deactivate") you simply follow the instructions they give you to reactivate - this is simply to click on a link in an email and state you wish to re-activate the account.

Now, Customer Services are telling me that this is not right (despite being stated in the T&Cs) and that additionally I need to make some kind of financial transaction too to reactive the account..

I'm going round and round with customer services about this - anyone else experienced it?

It's not a biggy but interested if it's only a mistake with me or is a mistake they're imposing on everyone.

I had an EP account go dormant (since I didnt used it for many months) - I think the 4 VCCs on the account which had sub $2 amount did get drained iirc.

I'd not read the T&Cs properly about the 6 month dormancy initially - seems a little crafty.

Obviously a good idea to pay fees etc with them to prevent that.

They made me do a transaction to restart a dormant account.

There were not enough funds left on the cards to cover their fees.

Added entropay to my excel file to do a monthly balance check.
All good now.

All I had to do to reactivate is was log in with some code sent to my e-mail...transaction wasnt necessary /shrug

This is what I pointed out to them too....

Ended up having long circular email arguments with their customer services - circular as each email was handled by someone new who would make the same mistake as before.

I had to point out to them that their T&Cs specifically say that all I have to do after the 6 month dormancy period is to follow their instructions (i.e. type in that code provided) - just as you say Rsot - and that is it for another 6 months. I also had to point out that there is no mention of the monthly re-occuring fee they were trying to charge in their fee schedule, only a one-off 6 month dormancy fee.

In the end, it turned out the whole of customer service were singing to the tune of pre-2011 T&Cs !

Completely out of date and different to those on the website. But the URLs were the same.. so they'd send me a copy of the pre-2011 ones via email which contained hyperlinks to the new, current T&C fee schedule on the website. Made it look like the T&Cs they sent were current until you clicked back via the hyperlink tabs to re-read what they'd sent you, only for it to change as it was now showing you current ones direct from the site (if that makes sense?).

All sorted and the correct situation should be as rsot described, type in the code from the email and your dormancy clock is re-set.

Wouldn't normally be a problem but it costs almost as much as the dormancy fee to upload funds! Every now and then I'll have to remember to spend something.
