Etsy Account and Paypal
 

I have a working original Etsy account that I've had over 1 year. I've boughten afew things from but never sold.

I will be starting my Ebay/Paypal Stealth accounts, but in addition, I am looking into using my Etsy to help a friend sell custom made items.

Do I have to have a working Paypal account to accept Paypal payments on Etsy?

If I need a Paypal account for it, would it be easier if I purchase a paypal, start a new Etsy account with the information matching the paypal account?

Your current Paypal is fine in the US to use with a DC account. If you want to only accept Paypal you have to make stealth stores.

Thanks Gladiator, I think I understand what you're saying...I have an existing Etsy account though, not a Paypal. I will have paypal accounts associated with my ebay accounts I will be building up after purchasing...I'm assuming it's not a good idea to associate one of the new paypal accounts with a new etsy account if it's already tied to an ebay account? (I hope that wasn't too confusing of an explanation

If you want to make sure if one goes down it doesn't effect the other, keep them separate. You can use an existing account across any platform tho, just up to you and the method of setting up.

Etsy wise, if you have a buying account you will have to give them a SSN/Bank/etc to open a store in the US - so a Paypal account is rather moot unless you opt-in for distinctive payments. If you don't wish to do that you will need to open an account elsewhere or use the stealth SSN workaround.
