Etsy asked for my ID
 

Tried to make my new stealth account today, with all my new stealth details, new identity including IP address, address, phone, email, new banking with stealth name, new products and images and then they hit me with wanting me to upload my ID because they can't verify who I am. I just feel devastated, after all the work I had put into this....maybe I just need some words of encouragement. Am I toast with this stealth account?

As I told you via email, you can't use certain info that's made up at points. Given the nature of this I'm not going into detail on the public forum, but I identified the mistake you made and you should be able to fix it.

How can you avoid ID verification? I read this forum but I'm not sure. One thread Gladiator wrote that it can be achieved by opening a shop in one of countries without DC. But what about a bank account then? Is it ok when your shop country is another than account country? Is it still below-the-radar situation?

You can open shows in your home country and elsewhere.

I think if anyone needs assistance with ID verification they should be contacting admin of the forum for advice on the subject. I might be wrong, but please don't contact a new user for this sort of thing, it just reeks of trouble.

Well my etsy non stealth is still active, did get one strike for vero, but have sold maybe $40k in the last 3 years, so I am guessing one strike wont kill acct.

There's a few ways that are openly discussed. My way isn't but it's my way. A few years back me & a 2 other members agreed to never post the main work-around publicly so we don't. You'll be glad we didn't if the same way works on eBay once they go adyen-checkout.

And no, one strike doesn't shut a shop down. 3 almost always does unless you're a big seller.

No problem, for every sale on etsy I get 10 on ebay, more worried about this paypal thing not letting me pay shipping or ebay fees with paypal balance?

It depends on your market on etsy. I sell more on etsy vs eBay and can get a higher price on etsy. It also helps to spread items over multiple stores, etsy's search is broken garbage so the more times you market the better chance you have over competitors. It's a simplistic approach, but given how they promote/change front page top listings it's the only way to keep an item in the forefront of their algorithm.

Get an EIN and verify your accounts, shouldn't be an issue.

Hey gladiator i sell on etsy uk but i use payoneer for disbursements
If i remember right i am pretty sure i used to see worldpay for a while then change to adyen for the etsy disbursements to payoneer
But i can tell you that all disbursements of the last 2-3 months are through worldpay...so are they still using it after all?

They only use them if there’s an outage or processing issue with certain foreign countries. The US will never use them again.

If at all possible could you please send me the msg also about this issue. I really want to get back up and running but i'm worried that If I use the details on my VCC they will ask for verification and I do not have that.
