Non-US Etsy Account, but Shipping from within USA?
 

Hi Everyone!

I was on Etsy for a year before got suspended for what I think was an IP-related issue; I was traveling, and my VA was logging in from Asia .. I didn't know what I didn't know :doh:

This was late last year, and I gave it a break from thinking about it until now, and I'd like to get back on.

I heard it was easier to get a non-US Etsy account (I'm in Canada). However, I sell print on demand things, and those companies are located in USA.

Does anyone know if this is an issue, if my IP was located in Canada as a non-US Etsy Account, and I do disclose my production partners as in the USA? Is this flagged as suspicious?

Should I just try to create a USA-based account with a US IP?

Yes, non-US accounts are the way to go, even if you ship from the US. Most customers don't give a rats ass as long as the stuff arrives in time and in good condition. Etsy doesn't care either.

So CA account with CA IP is the way to go. Hint: other countries than CA should work too (in case you prefer a paypal only account).

Isn't it a country that requires DC? If so, how to apply stealth rules here?

I think that's why it was hinted that etsy accounts from countries other than US and CA which ship from USA are acceptable.

So if I live in the US and I open and account in Canada and etsy thinks I'm in Canada how does that work for shipping?

I tried that and couldn’t get verified but made one using Mexico but got instantly banned when I added more listings. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Etsybanned - how many listings a day ? You should never list more than 6-8 items a day, spread them out over a week or two.
