New Etsy setup
 

Hey everyone. I’m “new” here. I have actually read the forums for years but finally need help.

I had an Etsy account in 2013/2014. Did great making 1k plus a week. Got shut down for selling “not handmade”

We moved and set up an account in my partners name about 6 months later. Same thing happened.

We have since moved again and are ready to try Etsy again but I’m not exactly sure how to proceed. We were both banned in 2014 so does that go away or do we just start from scratch and figure out how to fully stealth.

We have new computer and bank so that’s not a problem. Just the Id verification I guess.

I need my hand held lol.

Being banned never goes away. Contact Gladiator, ETY is pretty difficult right now.

To the OP a lot more items are allowed to be sold e.g. digital downloads since you last had a shop. Have you looked recently to see if anyone is selling similar to your items ?

People always sell them (wedding rings) and I checked and there are people selling the same items.

However, I went back and found the email where they suspended me. I am only banned from selling in handmade. So now what.

Open a new account with my info and hoPe that since I’m only banned in handmade they didn’t block me from signing back up

Or email their trust and safety and ask permission to open in another category (vintage and crafts was all that was mentioned in the email since those were the only 3 categories back then)

So what do I do lol. I feel like I’m asking if I should ask forgiveness or permission. I just don’t wanna burn a new address/ip/bank for nothing.

Is there a paid forum I can join with more Etsy Info? I understand people are reluctant to help bc this is public. I just need help ASAP lol

1. Don't make accounts in friends/family names
2. Don't make US accounts as you'll need a SSN for those. You can make it from another country and still ship from the US, nobody cares.
3. Once banned on etsy they will not reinstate your account. Even if you offer them a ****job.
4. After the first sale Etsy seems to check the items you're selling. Make sure you start with 100% handmade items. Don't use stock images or pictures that can be found with google image search.
5. Don't use pictures you have used before. Take new pictures of your merch.
6. Study this forum for a while and you'll understand. Also reading ebay stealth book will help you understanding the basics.

I read the eBay stealth guide. Twice actually the other night. I don’t have a PayPal either so I need to use direct checkout. That’s where I’m confused on how to proceed.

I don't know how other countries work so my question is does other countries ask for tax info once it gets close to the 200/$20,000 mark?

Some may have other tax requirements but only the US has that exact requirement from the IRS
