Hi all and thanks in advance for dropping by.

It’s been a few months since I been banned on Etsy. I took the plunge today and got new prepay card up and running and decided to open Etsy. Unfortunately I need direct check out as what I offer and who I sell to is much appealing.

Here’s what I did

1 new user account on my MacBook
2 using phone hot spot it’s a new phone too
( wondering if I can use app on phone if it’s new and never used on old acct)
3 new banking information and credit card
4 new gmail account
5 name on account I added both my mom and dad last name ( I only carry one )
Used same 4 digits of social from old account will be using a ein later on
6 new phone number
7 new address with different zip code

Billing address match account address


So I will only be using my hotspot and new user to log in. I’m purchasing a new camera to take my new pictures and creating new items as well. So far I loaded 1 listing and I did not do my best job. I wanna see how long should I wait to add more ? Also how long before I know this will be a good account ? Any and all help is appreciated.

I know so am I. That’s the only thing has me uneasy. But I searched , read , studied and I got the impression that it was safe as Etsy don’t keep record of it. I did get a verification 3 questions so idk if that is good or bad.

So I set it up listed one item and have left it as is have not logged in. I’m trying to figure out how to upload my pictures as I used to use my phone and app. I do have a new phone so idk if I take pictures and send to my email will I be able to upload from computer. I’m like legit scared to try anything. Lmao waiting on funds to buy a digital camera.

New phone would be fine for new pictures because the info on the photo will be different.

I am not a fan of the apps offered by etsy (or eb or pp for that matter).

Hi all account is up and running but I hit a brick wall my computer died and I don’t have another way of getting on Etsy. I have to also pay my fee of the one listing I made because I did not load the prepaid card I used. Now I can’t even pay it because I don’t have a device to log on. Account is currently suspended for 20 freaking cents.

What did you use to withdraw your money from ETSY?. My real name is linked to a banned account, can i use a new bank account in my real name to withdraw from a stealth account or do you withdraw to a VCC in the stealth name.

I use a prepaid card with my real name but it has my stealth address to match my Etsy account. I believe addresses must match. From reading and investigating here in the forums Etsy cant confirm the name on the deposit account but addresses must match. Anyone that can either back this information up or corrected please feel free to chime in. I’m also have a us account. I’m not too familiar with others.

I see you’re from UK, create a savings account with your current bank online, it’s instant( avoid lloyds)
Type the sort code and account there for withdrawal and on the receiver name insert the stealth name. It should work 100% until this summer when the banks will change and will adapt a new verification system, meaning you won’t be able to send funds to xxxx sort code xxxx account if the name on it doesn’t match ;)


LizzyB - when adding the vcc use the same address you used for registration.

Thank you for this write up!. I have recently gone to create a stealth account in the UK. I had an issue with the name and address part, it said they could not verify me and asked for government ID. The name was made up and the address was a random one near my VPN Location. Im guessing you have to be linked somehow to the stealth address. How did you pick your name and address to make it work? Thank youuu!

Address I found a apartment complex not too close but not too far same county different town . For name I used my first name and added my last name as my “middle name-last name “ so it’s a very close variation of my name. But not exactly my name.

What steps did you take to make your account? How long was it up for ? Did you clean pictures or used new ones ? How many listing did you add?

Lizzyb, is the address you used for the account the same for your bank account? I'm thinking of doing the same set up as you, I recently got married so my name changed but my address did not. so I'm trying to figure out how to get past the SSN and address piece.

Did using the same last 4 digits work? Have you successfully gotten paid from your sale? Did you use DC?

I'd appreciate any and all advice.

So basically yes my stealth address matches my card address. I have direct checkout since I’m in USA. It was too confusing to make a different country stealth. I used my last 4 social with a variation of my name. All information is absolutely different and has to match. I’m not an expert but can be very helpful. If at any point anyone wants to correct me or add on please tell free. This forum was super helpful. I literally read everything.

Actually here is the question I had as someone else may be able to answer or benefit from the answer:

How do you get the addresses to match? Is it just the prepaid card that matches? Did you buy any prepaid visa and then register it online? Or does your bank account address match the stealth account? I don’t think I can open a bank account with a stealth address.

Have you been able to use the app on your phone? Do you use your phone for pictures?

Have you been up and running for a bit now and receiving payments with no issues?

So was the account name in your bank account on Etsy? I've been experiencing a ton of problems with the address and bank account part.

I've changed the address on my bank to my stealth one and been using the same name for both the bank info and address for Etsy but for some reason they keep saying they can't verify my information. I've been stuck on this for a little over two weeks and any help would be very much appreciated! :tears:

SO YOU Change the address of your bank account,I dont think Etsy can access the address,it could be the same bank account .

They don’t like mismatching names deposits

A lot of the time they are fine with it until they are not then they lock all the accounts you have with them and make you jump through a lot of hoops
