It seems that US stealth wont work in the long term any more.

They never worked in a long term, I would say. Hadn't had any email yet, but my shop was shut down for the same reason 2 yrs ago. Back then, I returned a W-9: https://w9.pdffiller.com/ from here after the request, put my real name and EIN in there

Maybe too late for this now but. What if you registered an LLC with an EIN and used that.

you should talk to a tax accountant and learn what IRS can do with your W9.AS FOR Etsy,once they find out this is a stealth account and they have your old account on file,they would ban your from Etsy.
I would comply and send the correct W9 to ETSY which will forward it to IRS,Etsy is relatively new compared to Ebay and AMZN,it may not find out you were banned in the past.

Kinda hard to move on since it is almost impossible to open a stealth account on etsy and the people who know how don't want to share the info. LOL
