When Does Et*sy Ask For ID?
 

Just a quick question about Et_sy and ID verification...

If Et_sy asks for ID when does this USUALLY happen?

During sign-up and creating the Et_sy Store?

Or later on after adding listing etc...?

I understand they can ask for it anytime but I am wondering if ID verify usually happens during the sign-up or after.

Etsy has asked me for my id when opening another account from my IP address . I changed computers, changed name , new ip & tried to sign up again no I’d required

sorry,I mean Etsy has a forum for sellers,you can search and see if there is a topic on ID

I did search this forum (the Et_sy forum) but did not find the answer I am looking for. Thanks for the help though.

The Question...

When does Et_sy USUALLY ask for ID?

Is it during the sign-up process or does it come after all the info and listings are added?

(I do understand that they can ask for id at anytime if they want to)

I am signed up. Didn't ask for ID. Hence the question.

Etsy is not like Ebay,
I know one guy whose shop was shutdown by Etsy for not paying his fees.
Then he used his deceased mother id and open a shop.
Months later,they found out and add his overdue fee to his mother's account,they let him keep his shop.
Then he was behind paying his fee again,and they shut down his shop and he is now permanently banned from ETSY.
Never did they ask for IDs/

for uk you normally need to supply ID as you open the account in my experience.
not sure how they check this tho

They ask for ID every time, at least with my experience with EU accounts.
