depends on what is the item.
Some folks sell clothes they made themselves,some sell vintage and antique items.
If it is something from ALIEXPRESS and you said it is vintage or old,Etsy will take down your listings and/or ban you

Etsy is certain to remove your items, or close your shop and ban you, if you are listing items for sale that could get Etsy into legal difficulties.

You will definitely get listings removed for items purchased on sites like AliExpress that infringe companies like Disney or brands like Hello Kitty. And companies like Gucci and Chanel will have legal representatives contact Etsy if your shop has listings for counterfeit products.

Otherwise, Etsy shops are pretty much free to list products purchased wholesale on AliExpress etc. If those products are a good fit for Etsy's current trends/style, they might even promote your item in a curated feature.

Some of the highest selling "vintage" shops on Etsy buy their items brand new and factory fresh from China.

As for so-called handmade, Etsy has successful shops that resell brands like Primitives By Kathy, Colonial Tin Works, Silpada, and more. Thousands of Etsy shops are listing used clothing, jewelry, and home décor items -- using the brand name in titles and tags --as "handmade".

Etsy stopped being an exclusively handmade, vintage, and crafting supply site almost a decade ago.

Again, avoid IP infringement whatever you decide to sell. Explore the shops and listings active on the site for items similar to what you are thinking of selling and see how the resellers work it.

I didn't think you could sell items you've bought, on Etsy? Aren't they supposed to be homemade or vintage or something like that?

when you list your items,it will ask you to specify the time period,
try listing and see there is a big range .

there is a retired dealer who exposed Etsy sellers selling new Aliexpress items as vintage,handmade and even report to Etsy and have them banned
